The surface tension and interfacial composition of water/ethanol mixture

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study develops a model to fit the surface tension of water/ethanol mixture for complete composition range from 0 1. The theoretical framework complements Van Der Waals theory on density gradient. modelling results overcome limitation Gibbs adsorption isotherm, which completely ignores interfacial layer. Furthermore, presents new method correctly calculate layer binary liquid and surfactant solutions.

The Effect of Surface Tension in Modeling Interfacial Fracture

In this article the problem of an interface fracture between two isotropic linear elastic materials is studied within a continuum modeling framework, which incorporates important nanoscale effects. The proposed model of bi-material crack ascribes curvature-dependent surface tension to both the fracture surfaces and the solid-solid interface. Further, it uses as boundary conditions the jump mome...

An Experimental Investigation of Water Effects on Asphaltene Surface Behavior through Interfacial Tension Measurements

As a physiochemical property, asphaltenes are known to be one the most surface active compounds in crude oil. Due to such property, their behavior is most probably influenced by fluid-fluid interactions at the contact surface (interface). Potentially and naturally, in most cases, water is in contact with crude oil and is co-produced with it as well. Considering that asphaltene molecules are pol...

the study of bright and surface discrete cavity solitons dynamics in saturable nonlinear media

Removing the Stiffness from Interfacial Flows with Surface Tension

A new formulation and new methods are presented for computing the motion of fluid interfaces with surface tension in two-dimensional, irrotational, and incompressible fluids. Through the Laplace-Young condition at the interface, surface tension introduces high-order terms, both nonlinear and nonlocal, into the dynamics. This leads to severe stability constraints for explicit time integration me...

Surface tension and interfacial fluctuations in d–dimensional Ising model

The surface tension of rough interfaces between coexisting phases in 2D and 3D Ising models are discussed in view of the known results and some original calculations presented in this paper. The results are summarised in a formula, which allows to interpolate the corrections to finite–size scaling between two and three dimensions. The physical meaning of an analytic continuation to noninteger v...
